Last night in beauty class we got the chance to try out a special treatment called Choco Beauty. Choco Beauty involves slathering the skin in a lovely chocolate paraffin wax mixture.
Everyone in class was pretty excited to try this out because we all love chocolate. Before we started we were all a bit sceptical of it, will it be real chocolate? Will it smell like real chocolate? Will it actually be good for you? Is it just a fad?
We were informed that the Choco Beauty treatment had lots of beneficial properties including
- nourishment and moisture
- vitamins A, E, B1, B6 & Folic Acid
- caffeine which is good for cellulite
- the fragrance of chocolate releases endorphins in the brain to make you feel good
You can get this done on any part of the body but is especially nice for the back of the body, hands, feet and face.
The treatment starts of with exfoliation, using either and enzyme exfoliator or a sea salt scrub. This is massaged in to the skin and removed with either a body brush or wet mitts.
After the exfoliation comes a lovely massage. As we were trying it on the back we were to give a nice relaxing back massage. We used a special Choco Beauty massage blend which contained ginger, orange and thyme to invigorate, sooth and relax.
This products was amazing. It felt so soft and silky and was really easy and nice to work with. It smelled slight like a Terry's Chocolate orange and is supposed to compliment the actual chocolate when it is applied.
After the relaxing massage the hot melted chocolate parafin wax is poured on to the body and smoothed out. It truely does smell amazing! Once applied cling film is placed over the area and you are wrapped up and left to relax for 10 to 15 mins.
Once the chocolate has hardened it is then peeled off which feels really nice and you are left with beautifully smooth skin.
I really enjoyed doing this treatment as well as having it done to me. The smell was amazing, I felt relaxed and my skin was left super soft.
This is a special treatment which feels really luxurious. If any salons or spas offer this treatment near you I would highly recommend it!
