Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation

After hearing so many beauty bloggers rave about the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and even go as far as to say it was their all time favourite, I really had to give it a go. I am the kind of girl who is on a never ending search to find the perfect foundation that will make my skin look flawless. I have very little loyalty to foundations (well maybe a little to Revlon's PhotoReady Foundation) but I am constantly trying new foundations in the hope I will find my holy grail!

Bravely I decided to order this foundation online. After looks of research and lots of goggling for swatches I decided to go with the shade Medium Ivory (which turned out to be a good match). I ordered from Space NK and within a couple of days in was on my door step.

So my thoughts...it is a really nice foundation. It is a full coverage foundation, highly pigmented and covers any blemishes well.

It is a creme foundation so if slightly thicker but does not feel heavy on the skin at all which I like. Although it is very pigmented, I did feel that some days I needed a bit more of this product. A small tube cost £33 so I did feel like I was using up the product quite quickly.

The foundation blends well and does melt into the skin. It leaves a nice luminous glow and makes your skin look flawless. It also has good staying power. I wouldn't say it stayed put all day but still looked alright after several hours of wear.

One of the only things I don't like about this foundation is that across my cheeks and forehead I do feel that sometimes it can look every so slightly cakey. And obviously the price is also a downside.

Overall I think this is a nice foundation and I probably would re-purchase this foundation at some point when I'm not trying out new ones.

Have you tried this foundation?
What is your favourite foundation?

  4. Really want to try this but her range doesn't go pale enough for me :( I find foundations go patchy on my cheeks and forehead, do you think this is just dry skin showing? do you have any recommendations?

  5. I really want to try this foundation! I keep meaning to go and get colour matched but I never remember lol. My favourite foundation that I always go back to and love all year round is "Clinique Even Better". It evens out my skin tone and leaves your skin looking wonderful and healthy!
