What's In My Bag

The other day I posted a guide to buying a designer bag. I thought it was only fitting that I followed it with a 'What's In My Bag' post. I love reading posts like these and love watching YouTube videos of them as well (I was very jealous watching the lovely Tanya Burr's most recent one!)

So let me start with my bag. It is a Mulberry Bayswater and I opted to get in Black Buffalo Shine as opposed to the traditional NVT leather. I chose this one because the buffalo skin in slightly more light weight than NVT and I like the subtle shine it has. I also love, love, loved they shiny gold hardware compared to the brushed brass on the traditional Bayswater.

I love my Bayswater so much so I have the same style only in tan NVT. It is such a classic style which means I can wear it for years and years to come. Another good thing is it is big. Now I love big bags but the bigger the bag the more junk you carry around. You only have to look at these pictures to see that this applies to me.

So one of the bigger things I carry with me is my purse, which is from Vivienne Westwood. I love the glossy red colour and have had it for over two years now and it has lasted so well plush it has plenty of room in for all my cards.

I also carry my FiloFax in my bag. I got this about a year and half ago when I was starting my first graduate job. The style is Raspberry Finsbury Personal Organiser. I loved the colour of this and thought the size was perfect. I write in all my important dates and birthdays so I remember and use it a lot more when I have lots of things on or exams etc. With my organiser I keep a pen. My lovely dad bought this for me when I was starting my first graduate job and we went to pick it out together. I think having a nice pen is really important!

Obviously I carry my house keys and keys for my work. I wouldn't get very far without these. I always have hand cream in my bag as I hate having dry hand when I am out. My favourite is Soap & Glory Hand Food. This smells amazing and makes your hand nice and silky smooth. I also carry around a rat tail comb with me. I am some one who need to back comb their hair several times a day so a comb is essential.

I also carry my little essentials kit. This is a small bag with everything I couldn't possibly think I could need out and about. It contains plasters, wet wipes, blister balm, mints, hair bobbles, kirby grips, deodorant wipes, pain killer and nail files. No matter what the emergency my little DIY essentials kit has something to help. The pain killer and nail files are probably the most used!

Something else you might notice from the pictures is that my bag contains a worryingly large number of lip products. I usually chuck the lip stick that I am wearing that day in to my bag and they just sort of accumulate until I realise my bag weighs a tonne (yes my left bicep is much more defined than my right as a result). Every once in a while I have a clear out but a few weeks later it is back to carrying ten or more lipsticks. I always have a lip balm with me though as this is my number one essential lip product.

Apart from lipstick I tend only to carry concealer with me unless I know I am going out somewhere after work or the likes. Then I will bring my a smaller make up bag with mini products to touch up with.

Also my iPhone can often be found in my bag but I do like to keep it in my pocket or on my desk mostly.

So there is my very big bag with it's very messy contents! What is your most essential item in you handbag?
