How To Beat Blemishes

We all hate blemishes, right? Well luckily enough I don't get too many. Of course my skin does go through phases of being good and bad, mostly due to hormones and stress. When I do get blemishes it really irritates me and I try everything I can to get rid of them fast.

There are a few products that I have found to be really effective in getting rid of spots. The first one is Superdrugs Tea Tree and Peppermint Spot Stick. Costing only £2.99 this little stick works wonders. It is a clear gel which contains tea tree which is known for being antibacterial with antiseptic and healing properties. It also contains peppermint which soothes the skin. This combination seems to really help my skin. If I feel like I have a spot coming or have a full blown one I will apply a little of this gel to the area and reapply before I go to bed. It really helps prevent spots and reduce any existing ones.

My miracle product has to be Sudocrem. This is an antiseptic healing cream, originally used to treat nappy rash on babies, however lists a number of other skin conditions which it can help including sunburn, eczema and acne. I have raved about this product in a previous post. This product is literally amazing. I will apply this to blemishes before bed and by the morning they are gone or  greatly reduced. This definitely one of the best things for beating blemishes.

My final product that I love for banishing blemishes is Clean & Clear Advantage Quick Clear Spot Treatment Gel. The first time I ever bought this was in New York when one of the worst blemishes I have ever had decided to appear on my chin. I bought this in the drug store and was amazed at how quickly it worked to reduce and get rid of the spot. This contains salicylic acid which has antibacterial properties. This really helps in combating blemishes.

Any spot treatment can dry out the skin leaving the skin irritated and flaky so I always apply an oil-free moisturiser such as Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser. This moisturiser also acts to prevent blemishes but will spot it from becoming too dry.

Other than using these products and trying not to get stressed I just have use a good high coverage concealer and hope that any blemishes disappear quickly!

  1. I love using Pommade Divine for any blemishes rather than Sudocrem, but I agree with the Superdrug Spot stick! I normally have dry skin, but when I was pregnant I got a few breakouts and this was a life saver!
