Just after Christmas I was shopping and swatched a beautiful YSL lipstick in Debenhams. It was such a pretty colour with a gorgeous golden shimmer through it. At the time they didn't have it in stock and I was also supposed to be on a spending ban so I kind of forgot about it. A few months later I decided to go ahead and purchase it. Being the impulsive buyer that I am I ordered what I thought was the correct colour online.
The lipstick in question is YSL Rouge Pur Couture Golden Lustre in 108. To this day I still am not sure if this is the same shade that I swatched in the shop or not but none the less it is a pretty lipstick. The YSL Rouge Couture Golden Lustre lipsticks contain golden metallic sparkles to give a luminous finish. 108 is a pretty golden pinky/nude. I have heard it called Ocre Rose and also Golden Nude so I'm not quite sure which one is correct.
As with all YSL products is come is the most glamorous gold packaging and the lipstick is embossed with the notorious YSL logo. I like this colour for everyday wear. It is very subtle, in that the colour is a sort of 'your lips but better' colour but it does have a really gorgeous shimmer to it that I love. The only things I don't like about this lipstick it that you can feel a slightly gritty feeling on the lips due to the sparkles and also it doesn't last on the lips very long.
Overall I do really like this lipstick and it is perfect for days when you want quite a natural looking lip. It is expensive at £24 though and when I finish it, I don't think I would repurchase it. If your going to splash out on a YSL lipstick I would definitely recommend the YSL Rouge Voluptes instead.
