Everyone loves luxury make up and beauty products, but lets face it, sometimes our bank balance recoils at the thought of £30 for a foundation or £20 for a lipstick. Budget beauty brands such as MUA and Beauty UK are becoming popular staples in the drugstores/highstreet. Affordable make up that is still great quality is what we all want. W7 is another brand which offers make up at great prices so when I got the chance tp try some products from the W7 range I was excited to see if they could impress me. Here is what I tried out...
This is a silicone based primer, very similar to my much loved 17 Photo Flawless Primer or Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. This helps smooth the skin, reducing pores and fine line to give a perfect base for foundation. This felt extremely smooth and made my foundation go on with ease. For £3.49 this does just as good a job as any of my more expensive primers.
This lip product is idential to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream which I raved about in my NYX Goodies post. The formulas are idential. It goes on like a lip gloss, very silky and smooth, but dries to a matte lipstick/stain. I love the look of matte lips and the colour stays on for hours which is great. I think I got colour 4 which is a gorgeous coral. I have been wearing this everyday to work.
This is supposed to be a volumising mascara however this product wasn't for me. I found that it didn't do very much for my lashes and although the brush is huge, the formula was quite dry. This would be ok if you were looking for a natural look but I like more dramatic lashes.
This is a neutral eye palette which contains 10 shades, some matte and some shimmery (although they are more of a satin finish when
blended out). I love, love, love this palette! The colours are pigmented and blend out beautifully. The colours are perfect for an everyday look or can be intensified for a night time look. I have been using this palette to creat a gorgeous neautral eye for work. For £3.50 this palette is amazing and I would highly recommend it.
This face powder is very reminisent of the Benefit blushers as it comes in a little square box. It has a shimmery bronzer and a pretty pink powder which can be used seperately or swirled together. It comes with a little brush. Usually I hate the brushes that come with products but surprisingly this brush is quite substantial and is really soft. This powder add a beautiful but subtle sunkissed look to the cheeks or face.
Overall I think that W7 offer really nice products for amazing prices. Many of their products are dupes for more expensive make up products which is great if you are on a budget or just don't want to spend so much. They have a huge range of products which can be found at Xtras.co.uk. They also have loads of other discount beauty products including one of my faves beauty brands, Decleor!
