Sorry for the lack of blogging recently. As I am a tax adviser January is always a hectic month for me. But now January is over I should be able to get back in to the flow of things and start doing more blog posts...yay!
Today I wanted to share with you a recent purchase and surprise surprise it is a lip product. Yup, my name is Gillian and I have a lipstick addiction.
My lip product of choice was yet another Clinique Chubby Stick. Chubby Sticks were a product that I must admit I didn't really want to like, I'm more a traditional lipstick type of girl but after getting my first one I really was impressed and now I have four in my collection.
I picked out number 14 Curvy Candy whilst shopping in Boots. They had a great points deal on and I was buying a Clinique mascara (review to follow) so thought I would get another Chubby Stick as well. Curvy Candy is a pretty sweet pink colour and is exactly the colour of pink that I always seem to gravitate to when it comes to lip products.
I love the Chubby Sticks because they really are lovely and moisturising for the lips. They glide on beautifully and have a soft buttery lip balm texture. Curvy Candy is from the normal Chubby Stick range not the Intense range so the formula is slightly sheerer but buildable and in fact Curvy Candy actually has a pretty good colour pay off.
The thing I love most about this lip product is that it is so effortless. This is perfect for lazy days (like today) when I want to apply minimal make up yet still look put together plus it is so fuss free to reapply (no mirror needed!).
I must admit that Curvy Candy is very similar to one of my other shades Mighty Mimosa however Curvy Candy is slightly pinker and more pigmented. Do I need them both, probably not. If I was to choose only one then I think Curvy Candy would win.
Clinique Chubby sticks are great to chuck in your bag for on the go but at £17 they are quite expensive and you cane find drugstore/high street dupes easily from the likes of Bourjois and Revlon. I am excited to try they new Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms which are a very similar product only with a matte finish. If anyone can recommend a good colour to start of with then that would be great!
