Hi guys! So I am back today to share some of my recent purchases. I shop a lot. My friends and family always make fun of me for it. I even try to hide my shopping bags when arrive back from my lunch break at work. I am the office shopaholic.
There is nothing I like more than buying make up and beauty products. I would much rather buy products than clothes and shoes. I love reading other bloggers posts on their recent purchases so I thought I would show you some of the things I have bought over the last few months.
Lip Lover is supposed to provide the comfort of a lip balm, the colour of a lip stick and the shine of a lip gloss and it really does do all three. I bought two of these (I can't find the other one at the moment but it was 313) after hearing LisaLisaD1 from YouTube talk about them. They are ultra moisturising, give nice colour pay off and give a gorgeous gloss to the lips without being sticky at all. I love the packaging and the easy doe foot applicator. 316 is a beautiful peachy pink and is great for chucking on and going.
We have all heard of the famous Alien perfume from Thierry Mugler. It is a very strong and very recognisable fragrance. They have release a new fresher, lighter version for summer called Alien Eau Extraordinaire and after smelling a sample in a magazine I thought I would pick it up at duty free on my way home from Marbella. I am rubbish at describing scents so click the link above for more details on what the fragrance contains.
This body cream is AMAZING!! It contains glycol, salicylic and lactic acids which exfoliate and resurface the skin. It has a fresh citrus scent, I usually apply this at night and when I wake up in the morning my skin is unbelievable smooth. It really does smooth and brighten the skin. Also the salicylic acid in it is great for blemishes, razor bumps or ingrown hairs. I am in love with how amazing this makes my skin feel! I got mine from Boots.
This is another product that I am in love with. I really enjoy trying out lots of foundation but I must say that this has to be one of my all time favourites. I would definitely say it is very comparable if not a dupe for the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation, and we all know how much I love that foundation. It is described as weightless and it truly is. You definitely do not feel as if you are wearing foundation when you apply this. So it must have light coverage then? Wrong! I was so surprised at how much coverage this gives (medium), with that being set it still looks natural and skin like. It contains light diffusing particles which help blur imperfections to give a flawless airbrushed finish. I usually set this foundation with a powder and I find it wears really nicely throughout the day, plus it has no SPF which means not white face with flash photography!
I bought this on a lunch time trip to John Lewis and was so ecstatic to see that they now stock James Read tanning products. I am a huge fan of his Sleep Tan Mask (click here for my review) so I wanted to try some of the body tanning products. I chose the mousse as I find them the easiest and most convenient to apply. Using a tanning mitt this applied beautifully, blending in well for a streak free finish. I left it on over night and washed it off the next day to reveal a very real looking tan. It wasn't super dark but gave a lovely sun kissed look as if you had spent a few days in the sun.
Ps. I love, love, love the James Read Tan packaging!
The next of my recent purchases is a hair care product. This Biotin and Collagen Amplifying Lotion is packed full of biotin and nutrients to nourish, collagen to add volume and wheat protein to add strength and fullness to the hair. I apply two pumps of this to damp hair before blowdrying. The result is noticeably thicker and shiner hair.
This is a body oil gel which is meant to be used as a moisturiser but I had read on Pinterest that it was amazing to use for shaving. The cocoa butter has the most gorgeous coconutty smell and as a moisturiser it leaves your skin silky smooth with a pretty shine. I used it for shaving by applying it all over my legs in the shower and then shaving as normal. It helped the razor glide over the skin and gave a really nice close shave and left my skin super moisturised and nourished afterwards. This Vaseline Gel Body Oil may just have revolutionised the way I shave forever!
I had no idea that Palmer's had started making skincare products. With a nice little range of products I decided to try the exfoliating facial scrub. My current facial exfoliator is just too gentle for me and I feel like, really, it is doing nothing. This one has a little bit more grit to it but is still gentle enough to use on your face. After using this my skin was left so soft. I also like that you get a lot of product for your money.
I also picked up the Palmer's Purifying Mask. This contains cocoa butter and shea butter to nourish, kaolin to purify and almond oil to cleanse. This is a white clay which when applied to the skin feels so soothing and cooling (this would be great if you had angry breakouts). It begins to harden and set and after 10 minute you can just wash it off. One think that I noticed is unlike other clay masks that I have tried, when you wash this off it turns in to a sort of cream/oil which feels lovely and moisturising rather than dragging at the skin. My skin was left feeling fresh, cleansed and very soft.
Being such a Too Faced fan when I saw this new bronzing palette as part of their summer collection I had to have it. It contains three of their most popular bronzers, Chocolate Soleil (a matte bronzer), Sun Bunny (half matte bronzer, half shimmer bronzer) and Snow Bunny (a mixture of pink/bronze/highlight shades). I love that you can mix and match the bronzers to achieve lots of different looks. It also comes with a little kabuki brush which is actually really good quality. It is a summer must have.
This is just a simple white nail polish. I think that plain white nails can look really nice for summer especially with a tan so I thought this little Mavala polish would come in handy.
This is a translucent mattifying powder. After hearing Essie Button talk about this in many of her YouTube videos I thought I would try it out. I really like this powder. This is usually the last step in my make up routine to set my make up. It helps mattify the skin but leaves a nice velvet finish instead of completely matte and one dimensional. It helps my make up stay in place and definitely controls my shine throughout the day.
I wanted a peachy coral blush for summer so when I was at duty free I also picked up a MAC powder blush in Modern Mandarin. This looks very orange but once on this skin give a lovely peachy flush. It is a satin finish (my fave!) which leaves a very subtle glow to the cheeks. Usually I don't find MAC blushers to be very pigmented but this one has just the right amount of pigmentation. I think this is a great addition to my summer make up bag.
Wow that was a long post! I hope you found it interested and informative and make you have spotted some new products that you would like to try out. I would love to know what recent purchases you are loving so leave a comment down below!
